Learning goals

  • We are learning to interpret and use timetables and itineraries to plan activities and calculate the duration of events and journeys.
  • We are learning to estimate and compare the duration of events using days, hours, minutes and seconds.
  • We are learning to use ‘am’ and ‘pm’ notation and solve simple time problems including duration and converting between units of time e.g. 60 mins = 1 hour.
  • We are learning to compare 12- and 24-hour time systems and convert between them using hours, minutes and seconds.
  • We are learning to tell time to the minute and investigate the relationship between units of time.
  • We are learning to identify and use the correct operation for converting units of time.
  • We are learning to use ‘am’ and ‘pm’ notation and solve simple time problems, e.g. calculating time spent at school, time spent travelling between two locations, determining arrival time with given departure time.
  • We are learning to compare 12 and 24-hour time systems and convert between them using hours, minutes and seconds.
  • We are learning to interpret and use timetables, e.g. developing a timetable of daily activities or planning a trip involving public transport.
