Elapsed Time Challenge - Lvl 1, 2, 3 - Far Out, Flamingos
In the 'Far Out, Flamingos!' elapsed time challenge, students will determine the elapsed time between a given start time and end time. There are multiple levels in this activity and extensions included. This is a good assessment activity for understanding of elapsed time.

Learning goals
- We are learning to use ‘am’ and ‘pm’ notation and solve simple time problems including duration and converting between units of time e.g. 60 mins = 1 hour.
- We are learning to use ‘am’ and ‘pm’ notation and solve simple time problems, e.g. calculating time spent at school, time spent travelling between two locations, determining arrival time with given departure time.
- We are learning to estimate and compare the duration of events using days, hours, minutes and seconds.
- We are learning to interpret and use timetables and itineraries to plan activities and calculate the duration of events and journeys.
