This unit is based on the Year 2 Australian Curriculum HASS Inquiry Skills, Knowledge and Understandings for Geography. The unit gives students a step-by-step understanding of their place in the world from a geographical perspective. Students will learn where their home is in relation to basic local, state/territory, national and global scales, as well as different features of places on these scales. The unit also covers the importance of acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land.

  • Understand the location of their home using local, state/territory, national and global scales.
  • Form a deeper understanding of the Traditional Lands on which students live.
  • Using the knowledge of local, state, national and global scales to highlight the location of different Australian places.
