This unit is based on the Year 2 Australian Curriculum HASS Inquiry Skills, Knowledge and Understandings for Geography. The unit gives students a step-by-step understanding of their place in the world from a geographical perspective. Students will learn where their home is in relation to basic local, state/territory, national and global scales, as well as different features of places on these scales. The unit also covers the importance of acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land.
How places can be spatially represented in geographical divisions from local to regional to state/territory, and how people and places are interconnected across those scales
