Terrific Text Types Poster
This simple display poster highlights a variety of different types of fiction and non-fiction texts that students can read and write.
Display in the classroom for students to be able to refer to when learning about different text types.
Learning goals
- We are learning to understand texts can be in many forms and that stories and informative texts have different purposes.
- We are learning to recognise the meaning of symbols in everyday situations, e.g. signs, logos, emoticons.
- We are learning to identify some differences between imaginative and informative texts, i.e. what is real or imaginary.
- We are learning to recognise that texts serve different purposes and they each have different features.
- We are learning to understand texts can be in many forms such as signs, books and digital texts.
- We are learning to identify some familiar texts and their purpose, such as symbols (exit signs, school crossings, badges), stories and informative texts.
- We are learning to describe some similarities and differences between imaginative, informative and persuasive texts.
