Calculate the Change- Whole Dollars

Students begin with an allocated amount of money, then simply roll the dice, move their piece and subtract the amount shown on their space. Learning goals

  • We are learning to recognise the relationships between dollars and cents and represent money values in different ways, e.g. calculating change in role-plays.
  • We are learning to count the change required for simple transactions to the nearest five cents and represent money in multiple ways.
  • We are learning to solve problems involving purchases and calculate change to the nearest 5 cents, using both mental strategies and digital tools.
