Probability Spinners

These spinners can be used in a number of situations and are a great way to compare probability between equal and unequal outcomes.

There are a range of equal and unequal spinners that students can use with a pencil and paperclip to spin and record the results.

The included frequency table and blank spinners are a great way to explore probability and compare that to the frequency of results that students observed.

Use as a whole class or rotations activity.

Learning goals

  • We are learning to conduct chance experiments, including those with and without equally likely outcomes, record the outcomes and the number of times the outcomes occur and to describe the relative frequency of each outcome.
  • We are learning to recognise that probabilities range from 0 to 1.
