Chance Experiments - Assessment Task

This 2 part assessment is a great way to assess learning from the Year 5 Conducting Repeated Chance Experiments Unit.

In Part 1 students will complete an equal and unequal chance experiment and record their results.

Part 2 requires students to interpret their data and answer a range of questions comparing the frequency of their results to the probability of the events occurring.

The included answer sheet helps make marking a breeze,

Learning goals

  • We are learning to conduct chance experiments, including those with and without equally likely outcomes, record the outcomes and the number of times the outcomes occur and to describe the relative frequency of each outcome.
  • We are learning to recognise that probabilities range from 0 to 1.
