Multiples and Factors - Presentation
This comprehensive Multiples and Factors presentation has been created to guide students through what multiples and factors are. It also explores Highest Common Factors (HCF) and Lowest Common Multiples (LCM). In addition, it explores the rules of divisibility and how multiples and factors can be used to solve word problems. The presentation explains these concepts through detailed examples and opportunities for shared practise, through Think-Pair-Shares. While the unit is predominantly aimed at Year 5, this presentation could be used in lower of higher grades for extension or revision.
Learning goals
- We are learning to express numbers as products of their factors, identify multiples and apply divisibility rules to large numbers.
- We are learning to create and use algorithms using multiple steps to experiment with factors, multiples and divisibility and identify and describe emerging patterns.
- We are learning to identify and describe factors and multiples of whole numbers and use them to solve problems.
