Echoes of the Past
This reflection-based worksheet helps students explore how arguments shape our understanding of historical narratives. Using real quotes from Yahoo Creek: An Australian Mystery, students compare cultural beliefs, personal stories and media reports. They identify different viewpoints and persuasive techniques (e.g. authority, repetition, emotional appeal) and consider how these influence what gets remembered in history. The resource promotes critical thinking, cultural respect and source evaluation through guided questions and creative tasks.
