Decoding Detectives - Presentation
This presentation is an excellent, interactive way to teach decoding strategies to your class. The presentation teaches students a variety of step-by-step strategies to help them decode and understand different words and sentences.
Play in presentation mode to show the sound buttons for each phoneme in the word to assist students with sounding out before blending and decoding.
Learning goals
- We are learning to use vowel sounds, consonant digraphs and blends when writing and reading single syllable words.
- We are learning to understand that a letter can represent more than one sound, e.g. cat, swan, ball, fast etc. and that a syllable must contain a vowel sound.
- We are learning to read decodable and predictable texts fluently and use strategies to make meaning.
