Suffix - What does it mean?
In this worksheet, students are required to identify suffixes that have been added to base and root words. Once they have identified the suffix, they are asked to use a dictionary to find the meanings of the suffixes. This worksheet could be used as an explicit teaching activity, independent activity, during literacy rotations or a guided language group. This resource is part of the Year 5 Strategic Spelling Unit Plan.

Students who are struggling can simply identify the prefix and base words. If they are able, they could find the meanings of one or two of the prefixes.
