Blending Blitz - Presentation
This presentation is an excellent, interactive way to teach blending skills to your class. The presentation teaches students the importance of sounding out individual phonemes, rather than letters as they stretch and blend unknown words.
Play in presentation mode to show the sound buttons for each phoneme in the word to assist students with sounding out before blending.
Learning goals
- We are learning to use vowel sounds, consonant digraphs and blends when writing and reading single syllable words.
- We are learning to understand that a letter can represent more than one sound, e.g. cat, swan, ball, fast etc. and that a syllable must contain a vowel sound.
- We are learning to use vowel sounds, consonant blends and digraphs when writing and reading one- and two-syllable words.
