In this unit, ‘Life After Federation’, we will be exploring why Federation occurred and the influential people who shaped Australia’s government and laws. We will explore democracy and citizenship and look at the contributions made by migrants.

In this lesson, we will be investigating the Australian Constitution, how it was developed and the people and important documents that influenced the Australian Constitution.

In this lesson, we will look at how our system of government is similar to that of the United States and compare the two.

Now, we will start to look at what changed after Federation. In today’s lesson, we are going to focus on citizenship and who was actually classed as a citizen in the newly formed country.
