Understanding Outcomes
One of the important skills that students will need to excel at probability going forward is comparing different likelihoods that can occur simultaneously. This is illustrated in this worksheet by using a deck of playing cards.
This workshet is part of a larger probability unit for Year 4 where students develop insights into the likelihoods of future outcomes through completing chance experiments.
Learning goals
- We are learning to conduct chance experiments to observe relationships between outcomes, identify and describe the variation in results.
- We are learning to conduct chance experiments with both small and large numbers of trials.
Curriculum alignment
Australian Curriculum covers QLD / SA / WA / NT / TAS / ACT.

Extensions
If you do not have enough decks of cards for your students, a slide with all the cards of the deck is included as part of the presentation for this unit.
