Observing Chance
In this worksheet, students make and test a series of predictions around the flipping of a coin. It helps them understand the outcomes of a 50/50 test and how the outcome of one flip event is not related to the outcomes of any past or future events.
This worksheet is part of a larger probability unit for Year 4 where students develop insights into the likelihoods of future outcomes through completing chance experiments.
Learning goals
- We are learning to conduct chance experiments to observe relationships between outcomes, identify and describe the variation in results.
- We are learning to conduct chance experiments with both small and large numbers of trials.
Curriculum alignment
Australian Curriculum covers QLD / SA / WA / NT / TAS / ACT.
