Delightful Decimals Poster Display
These engaging posters are a great complement to the Decimals Presentation as they completely break down tenths, hundredths and thousandths using clear visuals to support student understanding. These posters also show decimal comparison with decimals up to three decimal places.
Use as anchor charts within the classroom for students to refer to when working with decimals.
Learning goals
- We are learning to make connections between fractions and decimals to tenths and hundredths.
- We are learning to recognise and represent the place value system extending to thousandths, e.g. one-thousandth and 0.001
- We are learning to compare, order and represent decimals on number lines.
- We are learning to make connections between equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages.
- We are learning to recognise and extend place value to tenths and hundredths use decimal notation to name and represent decimals.
- We are learning to compare and order numbers with more than two decimal places and represent decimal numbers including numbers greater than 1, e.g. 1.68cm, on number lines.
- We are learning to recognise that 100% represents a whole and use percentages to describe, represent and compare relative percentages visually, e.g. shading a hundreds grid and connect percentages to their decimal and fraction equivalents.
- We are learning to compare, order and represent common fractions including halves, thirds and quarters on the same number line and justify their order.
