Degrees of Language Formality - Presentation
This comprehensive presentation has been created to guide students through the use of formal and informal language. The presentation explains these concepts through detailed examples and opportunities for guided and independent practise. While the unit is predominantly aimed at Year 5, this presentation could be used in lower or higher grades for extension or revision.
Learning goals
- We are learning to recognise that we can use language differently with our friends, family and in various cultural contexts, e.g. periods of silence, but that language is typically formal in texts and in written form.
