This unit is based on the Year 4 Australian Curriculum HASS Inquiry Skills, Knowledge and Understandings for Civics and Citizenship. Students will explore the difference between rules and laws, why are they important and how they affect the lives of people. They recognise that laws apply to everyone in society. Students will investigate the customary lore of First Nations Australians and how they relate to people and places. They explore the roles of local government and how members of the community use and contribute to local services.
