Understanding Human Caused Change
In this worksheet, students look at the impact that humans have on the Earth’s surface through adding and taking away. Not only do they do some light comprehension, they are also asked to dig a little deeper, by researching a project or new technology that is mitigating our impact on surface change.
This worksheet was created as part of a larger Year 5 Earth and Space Sciences unit on Weathering and Erosion titled ‘Surface Change’.
Learning goals
- We are learning to describe how weathering, erosion, transportation and deposition cause slow or rapid changes to the Earth’s surface.
- We are learning to understand that the Earth’s surface changes over time as a result of natural processes and human activity.
