Translation Practise Sheet
The Translation Practise Sheet is a grid-based activity that helps students visualise and apply translation rules to simple geometric shapes. Students are instructed to move each shape a set number of spaces in specified directions, reinforcing vocabulary like “spaces right,” “spaces left,” and “spaces up/down.”
An answer sheet is included for quick marking or student self-assessment. A built-in fast finisher activity also encourages peer interaction and reinforcement.

Modifications
• Use coloured pencils to distinguish original and translated shapes.
• Allow physical cut-outs or shape tiles for hands-on support.

• Introduce reverse translation (e.g. “where did it come from?”).
• Combine with other transformations (reflection or rotation) for a challenge.
