Reflection Practise Sheet (with Answers)

The Reflection Practise Sheet guides students in identifying and drawing reflected shapes across three types of mirror lines: vertical, horizontal, and diagonal. Using a grid and clear instructions, students practise spatial reasoning and symmetry through hands-on geometry tasks.

The worksheet includes a fast finisher partner activity and is supported by a provided answer sheet for marking or self-assessment.

Learning goals

  • We are learning to recognise and create tessellations of shapes, e.g. tiling patterns, describing the transformations used.
  • We are learning to identify and use combinations of translations, reflections and rotations.

Differentiation

Modifications

•    Provide tracing paper or mirrors to support visualisation.
•    Use colour coding to distinguish original and reflected shapes.
•    Allow students to label coordinates or use stickers for tactile support.

Extensions

•    Challenge students to create their own reflection challenge for a partner.
•    Combine reflections with other transformations (e.g. reflect then rotate).
•    Use in symmetry-focused art projects or digital drawing programs.
