CVC Tongue Twisters - Short E
A presentation for practising CVC short βeβ words through engaging tongue twisters. This resource contains two tongue twisters, each using a sequence of colourful images (hen, web, jet / ten, pen, net) arranged in rows. Students start at the top, pointing to each picture in sequence and saying the word aloud as quickly as they can. The activity develops phonemic awareness, sound blending, and fluency. Teacher support instructions are included for when students get stuck.
Learning goals
- We are learning to understand that a letter can represent more than one sound, e.g. cat, swan, ball, fast etc. and that a syllable must contain a vowel sound.
