The King Henry Method

This worksheet introduces students to the ‘King Henry’ method of unit conversion and allows them the opportunity to practice this new skill. It is part of a larger unit designed to help students understand how to convert common metric units of length, mass and capacity.

Learning goals

  • We are learning to convert between common units of measurement for length, mass and capacity and use decimal representations of metric measurements relevant to the context of a problem, e.g. 1.25m = 125cm.
  • We are learning to convert between common metric units of length, mass and capacity, i.e. millimetres, centimetres, metres, kilometres, milligrams, grams, kilograms, tonnes, millilitres, litres, kilolitres and megalitres.
