The Grams to Kilograms Game was developed for Year 6 to support the Measurement strand of the Mathematics Curriculum. It makes a perfect rotation activity and fast finishers game.

Learning goals

  • We are learning to convert between common units of measurement for length, mass and capacity and use decimal representations of metric measurements relevant to the context of a problem, e.g. 1.25m = 125cm.
  • We are learning to convert between common metric units of length, mass and capacity, i.e. millimetres, centimetres, metres, kilometres, milligrams, grams, kilograms, tonnes, millilitres, litres, kilolitres and megalitres.
