Sharing with Shelly Board Game

This hands-on board game is all about equal group sharing. Students divide collections using counters to identify whether their collection can be equally shared or whether there are some left over. Students race to the finish by landing on as many equal share collections as they can.

Learning goals

  • We are learning to solve problems involving modelling addition, subtraction, equal sharing and grouping, using different strategies.
  • We are learning to identify one half as two equal parts of a whole.
  • We are learning to read, write, model and represent numbers to 100 in different ways and on number lines.
  • We are learning to divide a set of objects into equal sized groups to solve simple problems.
  • We are learning to use concrete materials or subitising to represent everyday situations that involve equal sharing and grouping.
