Maths Unit: Equal Sharing and Grouping
This equal sharing and grouping unit is a wonderful resource to set the foundation for the concept of division by modelling and representing problems through equal group sharing.
This unit features a large range of hands-on activities that utilise hands on manipulatives for students to engage in.
Learning goals
- We are learning to read, write, model and represent numbers to 100 in different ways and on number lines.
- We are learning to identify one half as two equal parts of a whole.
- We are learning to divide a set of objects into equal sized groups to solve simple problems.
- We are learning to solve problems involving modelling addition, subtraction, equal sharing and grouping, using different strategies.
