Jump Strategy Puzzles - Level 2 - This set of puzzles was created to introduce the jump strategy to Year 2 students. In completing these puzzles, students will use counting on, counting back and counting off the decade. Students will match the visual representation to the equation.
Learning goals
- We are learning to solve problems involving modelling addition, subtraction, equal sharing and grouping, using different strategies.
- We are learning to recall addition facts to 20 and apply to related subtraction facts using a range of strategies.
- We are learning to use a range of mental and written strategies to solve simple addition and subtraction problems.
- We are learning to use inverse relationships between addition and subtraction to find unknown values using different strategies.
- We are learning to use number sentences and partitioning to demonstrate the connection between addition and subtraction.
- We are learning to add and subtract two-and three-digit numbers using place value groupings.

Differentiation
Modifications
Students can remain on Jump Strategy Puzzles - Level 1. Alternatively, provide only addition puzzles in Level 2 until students are ready to progress.
