Learning goals
- We are learning to recognise 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/10 and their multiples to a complete whole and fractions of groups in different ways.
- We are learning to count in fractions on a number line, represent and locate fractions on number lines and convert mixed numerals into improper fractions and vice versa.
- We are learning to recognise halves, quarters and eighths of a whole and connect halves, quarters and eighths through repeated halving.
- We are learning to find equivalent representations of fractions and make connections between fractions and decimals, e.g. ยผ of 1 metre = .25m or 25cm.
- We are learning to recognise halves, quarters and eighths of an object and to understand that a group of objects can be separated to show halves, quarters and eighths of the group.
- We are learning to recognise 1/2, 1/4, 1/3, 1/5 and their multiples to a complete whole and to locate fractions on a number line.
- We are learning to investigate equivalent fractions, e.g. halves, quarters and eighths or thirds and sixths.
- We are learning to count by quarters, halves and thirds, and convert fractions and locate and show fractions on a number line.
