Cool Cohesion
This fun and engaging game encourages students to make their writing more precise, more interesting and more cohesive! Students are required to work their way around the gameboard and select sentence starter cards. Once selected, students use the Cool Connectives Reference Sheet to select a text connective and complete the sentence. The first player to complete 4 sentences using different text connectives for each, wins!
An excellent fast finisher or literacy rotation activity for any middle year's classroom.

Learning goals
- We are learning to understand that texts are made cohesive through the use of pronouns, e.g. ‘she’, ‘he’, ‘they’, determiners, e.g. ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’, ‘those’, ‘the’ and text connectives that link, e.g. ‘however’, ‘in addition’, ‘therefore’ and that indicate time, e.g. ‘firstly’, ‘then’, ‘next’, ‘finally’.
