This resource has been created to assess your students’ ability to differentiate between main and subordinate clauses, as well as demonstrate their understanding  of complex sentences that include at least one subordinate clause.

Learning goals

  • We are learning to use adjectival and adverbial clauses to build descriptions in texts and understand that a complex sentence contains one independent clause and at least one dependent clause joined by a subordinating conjunction, e.g. because, if, that.
