Completing Your Own Statistical Investigation
This worksheet is designed to lead students through a final assessment activity where they create a survey question to ask their classmates and then collect data, analyse the statistics and communicate their findings to their classmates. The sheet includes a rubric you can use during presentations to simplify your own data collection, as well as write comments.
This is the final assessment activity of a larger unit designed for Year 4 that helps students develop their statistical investigation skills by walking them through the necessary stages to plan, conduct and analyse a statistical investigation and then communicate their findings.
Learning goals
- We are learning to conduct investigations to collect data through surveys and to record, display and interpret the data to answer questions.
