Calculator Checks
In this worksheet, students solve multiplication problems using the methods they have learned throughout the unit, and then use a calculator to check their answers. Great practice before any multiplication assessment.
The worksheet is a part of a larger unit that was written to help students move beyond times tables, providing them with different methods for solving multi-digit multiplication problems, including the partitioning method, area method and lattice method.
Learning goals
- We are learning to solve problems involving multiplication of large numbers by 1- or 2-digit numbers using efficient mental or written strategies and appropriate digital technologies, e.g. arrays.
- We are learning to solve problems involving multiplication of large numbers by one or two-digit numbers using efficient mental or written strategies and appropriate digital technologies, e.g. area model, arrays and Italian Lattice Method.
