CVC Tongue Twisters - Short A
A presentation designed to help Foundation students practise CVC short ‘a’ words through engaging tongue twister activities. This resource features two tongue twisters, each with a sequence of clear, colourful images (bat, cat, hat / fan, jam, dad) arranged in rows. Students point to each picture in order and say the name aloud as quickly as they can, improving phonemic awareness, sound blending, and fluency. Includes teacher prompts for support if students get stuck.
Learning goals
- We are learning to understand that a letter can represent more than one sound, e.g. cat, swan, ball, fast etc. and that a syllable must contain a vowel sound.
Curriculum alignment
Australian Curriculum covers QLD / SA / WA / NT / TAS / ACT.
