Learning goals

  • We are learning to understand how language features such as personal and possessive pronouns can be used to leave out words in a text that can be inferred, e.g. Sam went to school. She had a lovely day. (β€˜at school’ is inferred).
  • We are learning to understand how language features such as synonyms, antonyms and word associations make texts cohesive.

Differentiation

Extensions

Consider using this game in conjunction with our board game, 'Alligator Antonyms'. Link this learning to an understanding of how texts are made cohesive through language features, such as word associations, synonyms and antonyms. You might like to select a character and create a bank of synonyms that can be used to create vivid descriptions of that character.
