This engaging and colourful number game allows students to consolidate their learning of rounding numbers to the nearest thousand in a fun way. Students work in pairs to play the game. The instructions are clearly listed on the game board and there is also a black and white version.

  • We are learning to recognise, model, represent and order numbers to at least 10 000.
  • We are learning to recognise and explain multiplying and dividing by 10 using place value charts, numeral expanders or sliders and to use a calculator to understand the relationship between the place value of digits when multiplying and dividing by 10.
  • We are learning to partition, rearrange and regroup numbers to at least tens of thousands using place value groupings.
  • We are learning to estimate the quantity of objects in collections and when solving problems.
  • We are learning to use estimation and rounding to check and explain calculations including transactions involving money.
