Patterns in the Environment Assessment Rubric
This 5-point assessment rubric supports the unit of work on Patterns in the Environment. It aligns with activities, worksheets, and assessments within the unit, helping you identify if students can recognise, describe, and create additive patterns that increase or decrease by a constant amount using numbers, shapes, and objects. Additionally, it assesses their ability to identify missing elements in patterns, providing valuable insights for targeted teaching and learning.
Learning goals
- We are learning to recognise, describe and create patterns with numbers, shapes and objects and identify the missing term patterns.
- We are learning to investigate number patterns adding two, five or ten, identify missing elements and represent patterns on a number line.
Curriculum alignment
Australian Curriculum covers QLD / SA / WA / NT / TAS / ACT.
