Onset and Rime Word Trains
The Onset and Rime Word Trains were created to support the Year 1 English Curriculum. Students are able to look at the visual representation of the word and find the onset and rime that come together to form the word.
Learning goals
- We are learning to use letters and sounds, including onset and rime, to spell words.
- We are learning to use vowel sounds, consonant digraphs and blends when writing and reading single syllable words.
- We are learning to use letters and sounds to spell words.
- We are learning to use vowel sounds, consonant blends and digraphs when writing and reading one- and two-syllable words.
