Moving the Decimal to Multiply by 10
In this worksheet, students learn and practice a new method for multiplying by 10 based on moving the decimal. While this method may be slightly more difficult for some students, it sets them up well for more difficult multiplication and division of 10s, 100s and 1000s, in later years.
This worksheet is part of a larger unit designed to introduce students to a number of methods of multiplying by 10. Students learn to multiply through the use of arrays, multiple addition, skip counting, and moving the decimal.
