Mandala Multiplication

The Mandala Multiplication worksheet set combines maths fluency with art-based engagement, reinforcing times tables recall in a visually interactive way. Students solve multiplication problems from 1x to 12x to determine the correct colours for each section of the mandala-style design, encouraging fact fluency, number recognition, and mindful learning. This activity is ideal for maths rotations, fast finishers, or home practice, making multiplication practice engaging and stress-free.

•    Maths Centres: Incorporate into maths rotations to reinforce times table recall.
•    Creative Learning: Provide a colour-by-multiplication task to reduce maths anxiety.
•    Home or Independent Practice: Assign as a low-stress multiplication revision task.

Learning goals

  • We are learning to add and subtract one- and two-digit numbers, using a variety of strategies, e.g. partitioning, doubles, near doubles, bridging to 10 and rearranging and regrouping of numbers.
  • We are learning to multiply and divide one- and two-digit numbers in word problems using a variety of strategies.
  • We are learning to count in fractions on a number line, represent and locate fractions on number lines and convert mixed numerals into improper fractions and vice versa.
  • We are learning to solve problems by using number sentences for addition or subtraction.
  • We are learning to recall multiplication facts of two, three, five and ten and related division facts.
  • We are learning to count by quarters, halves and thirds, and convert fractions and locate and show fractions on a number line.

Modifications

•    Offer smaller times table sets for students needing additional support.
•    Allow students to use a multiplication chart if extra guidance is needed.

Extensions

•    Encourage students to create their own multiplication mandalas.
•    Use completed mandalas to decorate the classroom as a maths-themed display.
