Modifications
We recommend starting to identify the vowel in CVC words by playing, 'Monkeys in the Middle', before progressing to 'Mad Middle Vowel'.
Extensions
Once students are confidently identifying the vowel in 'Mad Middle Vowel', they can progress to 'Medial Vowel Machine', where they will be replacing the vowel to create a new CVC word.
