CVC Words - Presentation

This unit will explain, give examples and opportunities to practise writing and identifying CVC words.
The presentation will give a definition of how CVC words are structured, give visual examples of CVC words as well as opportunities to identify the shape of letters, missing vowels and writing their own CVC words.

  • We are learning to use letters and sounds to spell words.
  • We are learning to use letters and sounds, including onset and rime, to spell words.
  • We are learning to read and write high frequency words and other familiar words.
  • We are learning to orally blend and segment sentences, to segment words and manipulate phonemes in single-syllable words (phonological awareness).
  • We are learning to orally blend and segment sentences and words and manipulate sounds in words.
  • We are learning to blend sounds orally to read and write CVC words.
