Judge a Book by Its Cover
This activity requires students to label the parts of a book correctly. Students will identify the front and back covers of a book, the title, author, illustrator, spine and blurb. This activity is perfect for introducing how to navigate texts, book handling and exploring the similarities between physical and digital texts. A black and white version of this resource is also included for students to colour.

- We are learning to understand how texts work on screen and in print, e.g. reading left to right, top to bottom.
- We are learning that digital texts are organised differently and have different features than physical texts.
- We are learning to compare the features and layout of print and digital texts.
