Health Unit: Permission Stage 1
This unit continues the discussion around permission, including how to interact with others in fair and respectful ways.
A range of age appropriate scenarios have been developed for you to complete as a class or in small groups. This goal of this unit is for students to practise strategies they can use when they need to seek, give or deny permission respectfully.
Students will practise strategies they can use when they need to seek, give or deny permission respectfully such as using verbal and non verbal cues.
Practising how to ask for permission and knowing how to say no, develops socially aware students who have autonomy over their bodies and empathy for their actions.
Teaching these foundational skills now makes the conversations around consent and more mature themes in later years much easier to address.
You can look for evidence of this understanding through the presentation, scenario activities, quiz and exit ticket.
