Learning goals

  • We are learning to recognise, model, represent and order numbers to at least 10 000.
  • We are learning to recognise and explain multiplying and dividing by 10 using place value charts, numeral expanders or sliders and to use a calculator to understand the relationship between the place value of digits when multiplying and dividing by 10.
  • We are learning to partition, rearrange and regroup numbers to at least tens of thousands using place value groupings.
  • We are learning to compare and order fractions and mixed numerals using knowledge of factors and multiples and represent them on a number line.
  • We are learning to compare and order common unit fractions and locate and represent them on a number line.
  • We are learning to compare and order numbers with more than two decimal places and represent decimal numbers including numbers greater than 1, e.g. 1.68cm, on number lines.
  • We are learning to compare, order and represent decimals on number lines.
  • We are learning to compare, order and represent common fractions including halves, thirds and quarters on the same number line and justify their order.
  • We are learning to compare fractions with related denominators and locate and represent them on a number line.
