English Unit: Excellent Editing

English Unit: Excellent Editing

This unit plan is a great way to introduce students to basic editing skills. The unit contains a presentation that walks students through the strategies, a student reference card, accompanying worksheets and activities. At the completion of the unit, there is a quiz and assessment for teachers to utilise to assess student learning.

  • We are learning to create and edit short written texts to record and report ideas and events using capital letters, punctuation and correct spelling of CVC words.
  • We are learning to edit texts for meaning, spelling, capital letters and full stops, for ourselves and others.
  • We are learning to recognise punctuation in written text, such as capital letters used for names and for beginning a sentence and punctuation marks, such as full stops, signal the end.
