English Unit: Clauses
This comprehensive unit plan supports students to learn about independent and dependent clauses. The unit starts off with a presentation to assist teachers explicitly teach independent and dependent clauses with examples for students to practice. The presentation aligns nicely with unit worksheets, starting with identifying clauses in sentences and leading into identifying clauses within short paragraphs and their own book of choice. The unit contains a detailed set of posters that also include (adverbial and adjectival clause posters). The unit contains student reference cards. At the completion of the unit, there is an assessment teachers can use to assess students’ understanding. The unit also comes with a game to consolidate learning.
