Class Growth Chart - Bug Theme
This Growth Chart resource is great for understanding the concept of length, using centimetres as the unit of measurement. As a class you may wish to compare heights and record them at regular intervals. Students are then able to gauge how much they have grown throughout the school year.
Learning goals
- We are learning to compare and order shapes and objects based on length, area, volume and capacity.
- We are learning to measure, order and compare objects using standard metric units of length, mass and capacity.
- We are learning to measure and compare objects and events using length, mass and capacity, recognising that units need to be uniform, appropriate and used end-to-end.
- We are learning to identify which metric units are used to measure items and to make estimates using known units.
- We are learning to measure and compare objects and events using length, mass and capacity and use instruments with labelled markings, e.g. measuring tape, ruler.
