Achievement Standards - Mathematics
This printable Mathematics achievement standard resource contains "We are learning to..." statements for all strands and substrands from Foundation to Year 6, including Number, Algebra, Measurement, Space, Statistics and Probability. Each statement is aligned to the Australian Curriculum v9.0 and clearly outlines student learning goals. Perfect for displaying during lessons, attaching to assessment tasks, or adding to student portfolios to communicate achievement progress with parents and staff.
Learning goals
- We are learning to read, write and order numbers to 20 using concrete materials, connecting quantities, numerals and number names.
- We are learning to read, write, name and order two-digit numbers to at least 120 using concrete materials, hundred charts and number lines.
- We are learning to read, write, name and order numbers to at least 1000 using concrete and virtual materials, numerals and number lines.
- We are learning to recognise, model, represent and order numbers to at least 10 000.
- We are learning to recognise and extend place value to tenths and hundredths use decimal notation to name and represent decimals.
- We are learning to compare and order numbers with more than two decimal places and represent decimal numbers including numbers greater than 1, e.g. 1.68cm, on number lines.
- We are learning to use, locate and represent integers on number lines, Cartesian planes, thermometers and in profit and loss.
- We are learning to recognise and name the number of objects in a collection up to 5 using subitising.
- We are learning to show that one- and two-digit numbers can be partitioned in different ways, such as partitioning two-digit numbers into tens and ones.
- We are learning to show that two- and three-digit numbers can be partitioned and re-named in different ways, such as partitioning three-digit numbers into hundreds, tens and ones.
- We are learning to recognise 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/10 and their multiples to a complete whole and fractions of groups in different ways.
- We are learning to explain and use the properties of odd and even numbers.
- We are learning to express numbers as products of their factors, identify multiples and apply divisibility rules to large numbers.
- We are learning to identify and describe the properties of prime, composite and square numbers and use these properties to solve problems.
