Scenery Cards

Scenery Cards

In this activity, students use a series of landscape pictures and writing prompts to explore the importance of setting in narrative. Younger students can list adjectives for the settings depicted on each card, while older students can complete the sentences to develop their writing. Students can do this on their own, in pair and share, or even literacy rotations.
