How to Make a Rubber Egg

An interesting investigation that demonstrates the changes that can happen to a familiar object during a chemical reaction.

This is an experiment that students will find very interesting, though its ties to the curriculum are limited from a science understanding point of view, it is fun demonstration.
 

Learning goals

  • We are learning to understand that objects can be made of different materials which have observable properties, such as colour, texture and stretch.
  • We are learning to understand that different materials can be combined for a particular purpose.
